Physical Therapy

Physical Therapists (PTs) at Orthopedic Associates work closely with our physicians to help restore patient function, improve mobility and relieve pain. The Physical Therapist will examine your medical history and then test and measure your strength, range of motion, balance and coordination, posture, and muscle performance. Based on this information, your PT develops a plan including a treatment strategy and anticipated outcomes.

Treatment typically includes strengthening exercises, hands-on techniques and patient/family education. PTs also may show you functional activities and exercises specific to your needs. Throughout the course of treatment, your PT is in constant communication with your physician to identify areas requiring more or less attention. Your PT will document your progress, conduct periodic examinations and modify treatments when necessary.
